Performative Envelope
This project considers facades that can exhibit responsive behaviours beyond the limitations of a shape memory alloy (SMA)’s singular activation temperature. This was investigated by designing computation that is embodied in the coordination between geometry relative to a sun-path and the corresponding movements generated by the SMA’s response given an objective-based performance of the resulting impact on the facade itself.
